Guajillo Chilli, 75g Mexican Ingredients|Herbs & Spices

Dried guajillo chillies add heat, colour and flavour to traditional Mexican dishes. Bright red in colour, they have a bright, fruity flavour with smoky undertones and hints of berry sweetness. Their spice level is described as ‘mild to moderate’ – ideal for mole and adobo sauces. You can soak the chillies in warm water to rehydrate them and chop them up to use in sauces and marinades. They are a delicious addition to a fresh tomato salsa for burritos and quesadillas. 

Use these dried chillies to make authentic Mexican birria – a slow-cooked meat stew with a rich, deep flavour. It’s best served with warm tortillas, chopped salad and plenty of friends.
